THE WHEEL
The wheel is probably one of the most important inventions in history. Virtually any machine built since the beginning of the industrial revolution has the presence of the wheel to a greater or lesser extent, so it is difficult to imagine a mechanized system without the presence of the wheel or a symmetrical component moving circularly around an axis .
Based on diagrams of ancient clay tablets, the first wheel that is recorded was used in Ur, Mesopotamia around 3,500 BC. But although there are no archaeological evidences, it is believed that the first wheels could appear in Sumeria around 8,000 BC, its invention being the result of a slow evolution of the combination of the roller and the sled.
